I’m 28F and I was curious to know if anyone else ever picked up on this work phenomenon while being in their 20s or younger.
I can’t help but feel that a lot of the older folks have this weird mentality of since I’m younger than them I can handle more of the work load so they hand off more of the work load to me (some times it feels like I’m doing my job and theirs), yet turn around and say how lazy young people are or “no body wants to work anymore”.
I believe this also happens in situations where they hand off work to the newbies in an attempt to haze them under the guise of “you need the experience!” Yet will undermine your thoughts/opinions for the same reason of lack of experience.
Of course, I’m extrapolating a lot from my own experiences but I wanted to know if any other people have experienced this. I’m assuming it’s always been this way and I’ve been told things get better when you’re in your 30s.
And just to clarify, I’m not trying to say this is a Boomer/Millennial/Zoomer/GenX thing.
