I work at a company affiliated with Albertsons (the people who own Safeway, Jewel Osco, Vons, etc). I’m a full time employee and I only get 5 paid vacation days a year and about 5 or 6 holidays off. And if I quit before the first year is up they take the money for used vacation days out of my last paycheck. It’s pathetic. If I wasn’t in the position I’m in, I wouldn’t even get the holidays. I only get paid around $15 an hour but the starting wage for other positions is $12-$13. On top of that, they don’t even match 401k contributions until after the first year. The place is so gross. I’m only here because I need insurance while going through grad school and I got insurance about 3 months after starting. It makes me so mad working for this company but I don’t even know what else I could do full time while going through grad school and gives me free time outside of work. I just needed to rant a bit because my coworkers are huffing some serious copium and my family doesn’t see an issue with it.
