All state employees are slotted to get a 3% raise and a $1500 bonus.
They gave 24% raises to DOC officers, but only 3% to non-security staff.
Today all of the teachers employed by the state department of corrections were told they did not get raises of any kind because we are attached to a school district.
That school district is operated by the department of corrections. And funded thus. ALL of the teachers are DOC employees, therefore state employees.
We were excluded from the state employee raises, despite being state employees, because we are teachers.
However the bonuses will be paid in October, because those are for ALL state employees. (Except “pink slip” who get no benefits including bonuses)
Thank God I'm leaving in a month for another job someplace else.
Ugh.
