Hello!
Never posted here before, but I saw a post where the OP was saying how they were unhappy thinking working a 9-5 for the rest of their life in America was their future and I wanted to make a kind of PSA post for people who might not be aware of other kinds of work opportunities
Quick backstory
My younger sister dropped out of college after her sophomore year. She was the “Straight A since kindergarten” kind of student. Was in an advanced program in Elementary school learning Latin, AP classes in HS, got a 35/36 on the ACT.
So basically she’s super smart lol. And most of our family expected to see her go into Ive League schools and she expressed an interest in architecture or being an orthodontist.
But for the last 3 years she’s been working on farms and weed farms all up and down the west coast. She lives on the property or she rents for a short period with people working on the farm or other people she meets.
She just sent me a picture from Mt. Whitney where they’re camping
I understand she’s young with no kids so it’s definitely a different kind of lifestyle. But if you’re interested in getting out and trying a new way of life I have some recommendations:
You can work and/or volunteer across the globe. I know some people just hop from job to job and get work visas while traveling
This is a program where you can work on organic farms, I’ve seen work in the grapevines in Italy for example and most
Jobs pay for room and Board for the job

Self explanatory but you work on private yachts lol
EF is an international travel company and they hire remote, travel corporate jobs, and travel guides where you work the tours
Hope this helps get someone out of the US, or whichever home country you’re in, even temporarily to see more of the world and it’s opportunities and lifestyles
And if you decide to do something like this, take a selfie and send it to your boss/manager who told you you’d never do better then them
Good luck to everyone out there
