Always a Big Fan of Malicious Compliance in the Workplace

Boss kept giving me more work to do because we lost an employee (did not get a raise for this btw). One day she gave me a rather significant amount of the daily work and I told her I wasn't sure I could incorporate it into my regular workday and get things done on time. She just laughed and said I'd be fine. Cue me rushing to get everything done for 2 weeks and burning myself to the ground. Boss came back again 2 weeks later and gave me another little thing to add to the pile. I kept my mouth shut and decided I gave up. I was drowning in work and she wasn't going to listen to me about cutting back. So, I slowly and methodically did my work like I had done before she had began stacking things up on me.

I began falling behind in everything. Refused to stay for my lunch break or a minute past the end of my day. Didn't even get to the extra task until the day it was due. Handed it to her without comment and went back to my ever increasing work pile.

Boss came back and yelled at me. Told me I should've done it sooner because now theyd have to rush to get it signed and sent before the end of the day. I looked at her and said that I hadn't had time to finish it until today. She had the audacity to tell me that I should've told her I couldn't finish it if I had too much work. I looked her in the eye and told her that I did and if she had listened to me back then it would've been done sooner. Within a week quite a few of my tasks were given to other staff members and I was no longer struggling to finish my day.
