Okay to start I am a starbucks barista with experience in opening a business managing it and working with distributors to maintain great relationships within the company at my other job that isnt starbucks…
Well, I've been looking around and landed an interview for a store management position at a new store opening up… This is where things got a tiny bit weird. I've seen indeed job scams before so I know warning signs but things with this line up but seem off…
So 1st our interview was at a coffee shop in the same town as this new store is opening… 2nd the interview had to be reseachudled as both owners wanted to be present and one was sick…3rd Today was the day for reschedule so I decided to take a closer look into our meeting spot (they sent me this location and address when we resechudled but I only checked distance away not the actual location), its a very fancy sushi restaurant still in the same town as the shop opening…4th ive never heard of a job interview being done via a dinner (maybe because the position is store manager and they are owners this makes sense to be more formal)… 5th I looked into the company corporate website and there is indeed someone opening up this shop as their official website states the location in that town is coming soon… 6th the job listing on indeed is gone but some online say business owners will do this if they have enough solid applications and dont want to accept anymore
The people on indeed I have spoken with do match the names of these news articles I saw from last year talking about how the location will open up sometime in 2022… Which also matches this listing… And the location im almost positive its at seems to be just wrapping up construction…
Long story short I'm not sure if I have girl bossed a bit too close to the sun and now im attending a business dinner/interview… Or if this is some sort of scam where I should be concerned for my safety as they have me driving out to a restaurant… Not sure please any input is welcome as I have the interview at 6pm and its now 1:45pm will update with new information as I go on the interview.
