Hi team, apologies for the formatting I’m on my phone. I work for a luxury brand, and I assist with after sales – so if someone needs something repaired they come to me. The issue I’m having at the moment is the company is willing to bend over backwards for customers at the expense of making me look like an idiot. I have to tow the company line but if someone complains enough, management will do anything for them. I’m talking free repairs/replacements for items that are years out of warranty/damaged by the client (sometimes deliberately because they want something new). Customers are now aware that if they abuse me/complain enough they’ll get whatever they want. I know it’s not coming out of my pocket but I’m sick of the company putting “clients” (the one today bought a single small ticket item fourteen years ago – I wouldn’t call that a client) above me and making me look foolish when I say no. I know it’s not coming out of my pocket – it’s the rewarding bad behaviour and letting customers treat staff terribly when they’ve mistreated their belongings that’s what’s getting to me. Am I being stubborn not wanting to give in to assholes? Do I just give away a bunch of free stuff to people who abuse me to shut them up? Or do I bail on this hell hole?
