I live in Brazil and just landed a job to work remotely for an US company for $72k/year. Since the brazilian currency (Real) is much less valuable than the dollar, 1 dollar = 5 real, for me this job is the equal to R$360k/year.
That's more than double of what i received from my last job. Looking at Glassdoor, i can see an American would likely receive $100k/year for the same job.
So that got me thinking, this company is only hiring me because it's cheaper than hiring an American and this salary will still be a big plus for me. But that's one less job available in the US.
In a way i am making things worse for the US workers and i don't know how to feel about this.
Am i stealing jobs from Americans?
