Am I wrong in thinking that a majority of the time, degree requirements are classist? Except for something like medicine or nuclear engineering or whatever, where lives are on the line, 90% of jobs out there should require like 2 or 3 specialized courses, not to waste 3+ years on some degree.

What a wonderful world it would be if only required you to take several tests to prove you have the competency to do that job. And there would be specific courses to take that explicitly teach you the skills you need. But no, most jobs out there need a specific degree.
