My boss (general manager) yelled at me (shift manager) today in front of more than half the crew, about me needing to leave early for a mental health appt that finally came through on a cancellation for my daughter (10 years old) it was embarrassing and I apologized about it in front of everyone. When I took my break I was crying in the parking lot. My boss texted me
“No crying in the parking lot. Lol. Jk. I'm sorry if I seemed upset earlier. I understand.”
I went back to work for another 1.5 hours and NOTHING was said and just got off work, went to the appt, and now am sitting in my car wondering why I put up with this.
I'm a manager at McDonald's with an accounting degree. I left accounting because I was very unhappy in an office.
I don't need this job, its entry level… I genuinely like it.
I'm unsure of how I want to handle this. This is not the first time for a public shaming and a private apology. It's unprofessional. (Yes. I realize this is mcdonalds, but he is a general manager)
