I had left on paternal leave the day after the store manager made this decision. I applied for jobs while being on paid leave. On my first day back I put in my 2 week notice to transition to a new job. I finally got a job in IT to start the career I went to school for!
My team was a team of 6 before I left on leave and is now me and one other. I told them not to leave until they had another job lined up and most of them were gone when I came back, I checked with them and they are all good.
My manager saw my notice the other day and asked if she could talk to me alone. She told me that she really needs me and we could negotiate a pay raise together. I told her that she should pay her employees what they are worth without playing games and that it's not about money anymore. She relented. I walked out of the office and told my one other teammate that he needs to go in there right now and negotiate his pay and find out what he's worth if he plans to stay.
We are officially shortstaffed and hiring. I am telling everyone that is currently working to go bother the manager about negotiating their pay.
