Anonymous opinions are never anonymous

We all know “anonymous” surveys aren’t anonymous but the mental gymnastics my company takes is laughable I saw that I had a survey asking how the company did along with our “Pride March” along with a quarterly one. I saw that I had a survey asking how the company did along with our “Pride March” along with a quarterly one. Another email went out assuring everyone all surveys would be completely anonymous and randomly selected for corporate to review how the branches are doing. I wasn’t scathing or anything but I pointed out a few ways that pride celebrations could be handled better this month and on my quarterly survey selected that I disagreed on ways that I had been treated in the office.

Here’s where issues arise. Turns out our VP decided everyone should do them. We got a follow up email saying all the surveys were sent out to department heads and were broken out by division within that department. Problem is me and several of my coworkers are the only employees in our departments within our division. I brought up this very glaring issue to HR who tried to reassure me our names and titles weren’t listed but our departments were so that our department heads could assess how well each division was doing. Literally just kept repeating on a loop until I just stopped responding. We all have meetings on Thursday to discuss these results.
