Anti-Anti Work?

I don't know if this is quite the place for this but I don't know. I've spent my life working pretty crap jobs, no chance of building a career, very time consuming and not enough pay for the work being done. A month or so ago I applied for a job being a medical administrator; a job I wholeheartedly believed I wasn't qualified for but applied on the off chance that they were happy to train me. I got offered a Zoom interview and thought I did a terrible job, it's been so long since I did an official interview that I had almost forgotten how to interact with professionals. Somehow though they must have seen something they liked because they called me back for an in person interview two weeks later.

That went surprisingly well, I wasn't as nervous as I had been the first time and the whole interaction felt more like a pre-work evaluation than anything.

I started two weeks ago and am not regretting my decision at all, the staff completely understand that I'm fresh to this, they've all been so helpful and happy to answer my dumb questions.

This is a complicated job, there is so much confidentiality involved and the added stress of covid too has thrown the entire medical field into a spin; but these people, every single one of them has made my entry into the job that much smoother, the pay is good and it keeps my brain active. I get more out of it than just money too, I know I'm helping people get to a better place.

The angry people here aren't the same as the angry people in retail; thats pure selfishness on display. In a hospital or a doctors office, those angry people are just so tired and feel sick, they might be scared and unable to process it, they're all sympathetic reasons so it's easier to stay calm.

I think what I'm trying to say here is; don't be defeated, and don't underestimate your own skill and ability. If you aren't where you want to be, just keep an eye on the job listings and only apply to jobs you want to do (if you have that luxury).

(ps: just let me know if this is in the wrong sub, sorry in advance to the mods)
