Any advice on how I should quit my job?

I work for a restaurant chain as a cashier, basically paid close to minimum wage. My managers and co workers are awesome people, I get along well with everyone and perform well at the job, but recently, I started pursuing my education again and need to quit so I can focus on my online classes this summer semester and to prepare for classes in the fall. I start Monday, and really don’t have the time to continue working especially since my next shifts this week is training me for a different position (line cook) which I really don’t want to go through. The only thing stopping me from just going in and telling them face to face I can’t keep working and need to quit immediately is fear of backlash from them and because I do respect them. I appreciate any and all advice, and hope y’all can maybe give me some confidence in what the best decision may be. Love y’all <3
