One of my jobs is little pay at a ski resort (minimum wage) and I’ve been injured twice this season, and each time they majorly question it even tho one had an ER note, and the other an urgent care note.
The other time I had covid symptoms and had to be out for 5 days, and they told me I should have called a Mgr first rather than fill out the symptom survey pre-shift that automatically puts me on leave. They said if we have symptoms of any sort call a Mgr first cuz “we might just be hungover or have a cold” is that right… you’re the doctor now? And cuz you can’t hire people cuz you don’t pay shit, we should pretend to be hungover so we can work with symptoms when I said nothing about alcohol at any time.
My other job is bartending at a big chain company, and we are severely short staffed and they act like they still have all the power… like you guys need me way more than I need you…. people have left the service industry in droves because after quarantine it’s lower pay and higher stress
