My fiancé and I tested positive for COVID over the weekend. In our state, we still have required statewide PAID PHE leave for up to two weeks per year. HR has already been trying to weasel their way out of actually paying it, which is whatever. We're in touch with the legal department of his job as well as the state department of labor, he's gonna get paid one way or another.
Can't wait to update the DOL rep we've been talking to tomorrow that his direct supervisor is treating this extended sick leave as a no call no show unless my partner calls out every single day until he tests negative despite the two weeks already being approved on the schedule whether it's paid or not. I really hope they try to fire him over this so we finally have an opportunity to raise hell, maybe get some unemployment and relax for a few weeks.
Happy freakin' holidays
