Apparently telling an interviewer you have another interview to consider is a no no, according to r/mildlyinfuriating

I posted a screenshot there of a potential employer getting short with me when I told him I had another interview to honor after he offered me the job less than 24 hours after talking with him. The people over at r/mildlyinfuriating are 'educating' me on how that's wrong and not nice, and I should've just not told him about the other prospect. I'm just trying to figure out where I owe him anything? The job was not a 'hire on-site' job, or if it was, that wasn't conveyed to me. So, on what planet is it wrong to be open and up front? The reason I'm looking for a new job is because my current one lacks just that: openness and communication.
