Are Boomers getting blamed in error?

Put down the torches and pitchforks, and hear me out… please. I'm gen x, parents were boomers. On here I keep reading on how bad the Boomers are, and how they don't understand today's generation. I grew up late 70s to mid 90s. Both my parents worked. I watched Cosby Show, Family Ties, etc.. Most of those shows off the “ideal” family, both people worked. I grew up in a world where it was normal for both parents to work in real life and media (Those parents were boomers). But people on here keep talking about boomers act like if if a woman works she is a failure, or how their boss talks about how they had it so easy and thinks that's the way it is. In 2022 boomers are 58 to 76 years old. So I payed attention today in my video meetings (of which I have a ton). I think there were 2 people at work who I am guessing are 60ish+. Everybody who was older was 42-57 years old. Most people were 20s and 30s.

So wait… that means the older people at work talking about “kids these days” are MY generation… not Gen X.

So, to my fellow X-ers:
Don't be an ass. We had it pretty easy compared to the silent generation, boomers, and kids today. Stuff was affordable, we never got drafted, and many parents paid for our college… and it was cheaper! Don't assume young = lazy. Don't roll your eyes when a “Millennial” gets hired… some of them are in their 40s now (time to face it, 80s were 40 years ago… ask alexa to play oldies and suck it up when guns n roses comes on). These “kids” grew up dealing with more shit than us. There isn't anybody under 21 who remembers life before 9/11, so shootings being a part of life, and they get bullied in ways that didn't exist when we were kids. Don't complain about social media or crazy fads unless you want to explain 80s and 90s hair and clothes.

Gen X wake up and smell your organic half caf almond milk soy latte and get with the program. Help kids succeed, don't step on them to try to be your parents.

(However, Gen X is okay you can still brag about cartoons all you want because really, ours were better)

Sorry, end rant.
