Are mental health professionals part of the problem?

The monetization of our mental health through sites like betterhelp or cerebral or whatever … that doesn't feel ok. Just keeps pushing folks to be the replaceable cogs in the capitalist machine. I think therapy is interesting. I enjoy talking to someone about my personal bullshit because it feels unhealthy not to do that. Today we got around to stresses I have about money and work and how I'm working a mindless job that only covers 75% of my bills. I'm literally looking for advice on avenues I can explore in order to find rewarding work and his advice was “we all have to work jobs we don't like in order to pay the bills” and it was not the helpful reaction I was hoping for. Oh but I should start Journaling. He doesn't think reddit posts could as Journaling. I disagree. Reddit, you're the only therapist I need. [Hugs]
