So this is something I never thought I’d have to post…
I was working 9-9 yesterday in a really hot and sweaty bar environment… in the morning I had to prep all of the cocktails, slice over 100 limes and lift heavy bags of ice to the upstairs freezer.
It got to around 12pm and I was so thirsty that I chugged an entire bottle of water.
My boss came right up to my face and poked me with his finger and told me that employees are not allowed to drink water behind the bar as it may upset customers???
I defended my right to drink this bottle of water, poked him back in the chest and said please do not lay your hands on me again.
He went bananas, told me to take off my apron and to never come back to the bar again.
This company owes me over 300 in tips which I have never received and I’m concerned that they will not pay me what they owe me for this week.
Any advice on this situation?
Was I in the wrong for defending myself or was he for instigating?
