as a kid in the 90s, my grandpa’s company had big Christmas parties for staff, and gave nice toys to us kids. never hear of that now.

In addition to that, my mom's company would host nice catered company picnics at nice venues, and I never hear about that anymore. The most I hear of related to employee appreciation are essentially slaps in the faces. We know CEOs make alot of money, and the companies do too. These corporations have 3 people doing the work of 10 people. They like it that way. My town was basically built for an old mill that used to be here; Affordable neighborhoods for the staff working at the mill. Those houses were probably $20k a hundred years ago, those same houses now cost like $250k.. These corporations went from appreciating staff, to declaring war on their staff. It's horrible.
