Asked if I’d be willing to come into the office once a week incase there is an emergency

My manager asked me today if I’d be willing to start coming into the office once a week incase an emergency comes up. This isn’t a hey if there is an sycamore you come in. It’s hey come in once a week and see if there is an emergency. In the 2.5 years I’ve worked here the number of situations that required someone in the office has been zero. My response was that i get more work done from home and also I’d be the only one on my team that has to do this. Im also paid considerably less than the other person in my position ( over $15k more a year difference) even though I’ve been there longer and often have to help the other person with their projects due to having more experience. If they want someone to waste there time driving into an office once a week just incase they’ll have to look for a new hire. Especially with the way gas prices are increasing.
