Hello people of r/antiwork…
Today, I made a brave, but necessary request to my dad. I asked him to quit his in solidarity of the exploited and undervalued workers in society.
He said no.
I couldn't believe it, I thought I had presented it perfectly. I created a slideshow that demonstrated exactly how anti work was beneficial and how quitting your job and refusing to work is an act of solidarity that will guide us forward to a communist utopia. I showed evidence of workers being mistreated, abused, and overall exploited, and asked him humbly, to quit his job in solidarity.
You want to know why he said no? He said, and I quote: “I get paid a really good salary, why would I want to quit?”. I guess it was finally shown to me how selfish generation x is. I talked to him about class solidarity, how the dictatorship of the upper class was restraining him, and even tried reading him some theory. He seem totally tuned out and at the end of my speech, all he could ask was, “Are you done?”.
What do I do? I want to spread the ideals of antiwork, but it seems like no one will listen to me. Some days I really do think a violent revolution is the only way it will happen. A way to show these selfish generations that we are serious and that we are tired of being mistreated.
If any of you guys have any tips to try and convince my dad that would be great. I really don't want to have to go no contact with him, but I will if I can't convince him.
