We have a zoom meeting today, and I’m going to start pushing for a raise for my team (and I’m not even asking for myself)
We live in an area where rent has gone up 50% in the past year, and even at $20/hr, 40hrs a week, an individual wouldn’t even qualify for a studio apartment (which requires 3x the rent net income). I can’t attract any new employees at that wage, and it won’t be fair to hire new people at a higher rate if my current team isn’t getting a raise too.
It’s fucking rough out here. My team is amazing, and I try to make work as anti-work as possible for them.
