I work at a mental hospital and was head butted by an ASD patient yesterday. After spending 6 hours at the ED and getting a CT scan I was diagnosed with a concussion. My manger informed me that sadly the next two days that the doctor had ordered me to take off will come out of my PTO. He has no control over this, entirely an HR choice. I have to have this job to get into grad school but holy fuck is this ridiculous. Even more so workers comp only covers 60% of my 17.65 an hour after the first two days of rest. I don’t understand how this is legal.
