If you have a bank of PTO my understanding is a company needs to pay that out to you if you leave. If someone were to quit without notice (i.e. resign effective immediately rather than give two weeks’ notice) does that preclude that in any way?
Trilogy Healthcare (LONG RANT)
I've been thinking about posting here for a while but the amount of shit I went through there is difficult to organize in a cohesive way without sounding like I'm going off on some rabid rant. I guess the best place to start is at the beginning. THIS WILL BE A LONG ONE I was hired on there during the lockdown in 2020, I had just been let go from my previous job of three years cooking at a bar. I remember one of the owners was nail-biting over whether or not Indiana would go on lockdown as the other states around us did and after a bit, some of us had to be let go. Anyways, I was given a tip about a nursing home super close to where I live to be in need of kitchen staff. I applied and got an interview. That's when the bullshit started.…
I just got insulted by an angry costumer
Sorry for the disturbance. I'm still a bit chocked as I kept my cool I had to keep it inside me and I feel like I have to speak about it to feel a little bit better. Also sorry for broken english. I work at a zoo during the week end. And we encounter all day long all kind of rude costumers, impolite costumers. We receive most of the time passive agressive remarks and we try to not care about it as it is happening a lot. Obviously We can't get angry at everyone who is rude At the end of the day. I was tired and on the nerve as I stayed on my feet all day long, under the sun with a 27 degree celsius temperature, with no shadow zone to cover myself. During all day I had a lot of clients who were rude as usual.…
OR A PAY INCREASE, EITHER.
What is laziness? People agreed it isn't chronic pain, mental illness, or exhaustion. So what is it? Some people said “I prefer not to do things.” I'd call that a preference. The word “killing” is different from “murder” because “murder” means wrongful killing. Is “idle” different from “lazy” in the same way? If so, when is idleness wrong? Isn't it up to me when I choose to be active/produce/put in effort vs not?
I never realised how sick that statement is.
Job with no tasks
Several years ago I ran across a story about a young woman who was hired by a large company. It was an assistant type office job. All the managers thought she was given work tasks by another manager. She spent her whole time on Facebook or writing a blog about how bored she was at work. And how stupid that none of the managers figured it out that she wasn’t doing anything. All the typing made her look busy. Someone discovered her blog and then they fired her. I’m looking for the original story.
