Not Mine. But somehow it is me. https://imgur.com/gallery/DE61YEB

So an agent made a complaint about me. I entered a few things wrong on the report I emailed them and called my manager confused about these items. Instead of calling me into his office, my manager decided to come and berate me at my cubicle where not just our department is but also other departments. They can all hear the conversation. So unnecessary but I guess it gives then a sense of power to embarrass their employees.
Nearly 10 years ago I was working in a spanish phone company, my job was mostly to fix problems from clients, plan maintenance and do office stuff. After several years I was burn out, and coworkers/coordinators were abusive and pushing to get more for the same salary, It got to my limits, and decided to quit, but on my own terms. So, I decided to work doing only what my contract stipulates, and if they wanted me to do something else, then to give it to me written on paper. No more than a week and I got called to HR, they were firing me, but… The most amazing thing was the reasons. They were firing me for: never having any doubts in my job never asking questions after a meeting. spinning in my chair. Brooooooo…. I took them to court, i was so burned down that accepted the first…
Mutual Aid: A Portland Story
Hello r/Antiwork, greetings from Portland, Oregon! The cost of everything has gone through the roof (again!) and many people are struggling regardless of employment status, so I thought I should share a little about my city's Mutual Aid culture and community, it may help give a little insight into what you can organize wherever you happen to live. Portland's network operates via individuals, and affinity groups often called “blocs” inspired from the black bloc, some are silly but I love them too. Examples are: snack bloc, optical bloc, tamale bloc, heater bloc, mending bloc, wood bloc, pet block, laser bloc, not to mention the EWOKS, Rosehip Medic Collective, and PDX Street Mechanics (there's more than that, and it grows every year)! Its modern iteration was born from the 2020 uprising for racial justice and Black liberation, though Mutual Aid in PDX has a much longer history, and not all MA…
For the reference – worked on a cruise ship for 6 years and started on an entry position and grabbed over 10 promotions reaching top-tier management. The entry positions are generally paid at $500-$600 per month. For $600 per month – you will work every single day (literally) – while your 'day off' will mostly be 2 hour off during lunch or breakfast time once a week. Some people get stuck on these positions for a year or two, working 70 hours per week ( at minimum ) 70 hours per week, 280 hours per month, $600 per month. Before covid struck – Carnival made 8 billion dollars IN PROFITS. 70 hours per week, 280 hours per month, $600 per month – let it sink in. Later on, the salary gradually rises up – in my department the next tier is $950 fixed, then later, from a pool of 'mandatory…
A little context I work for a conservation district and we are a combination of county/state employees. about 3years before I started they got “temporarily” moved to a basement… we are still here. I also happen to live less than 5 min from the office. So anyway this week and next we have a bunch of zoom classes for trainings and our manager won’t let us watch them from home. So I come in Monday not feeling well and ask if I could just watch them from home and my manager says no what’s the difference between watching them from home and here. As I glance around our concert basement w no ceiling tiles and over to my desk which is under the waste water pipe so I hear every flush… um there’s a lot but for starters windows and heat are what comes to mind. Long story short I…
I've been working in this place for 3 months now and I just quit my job today, it really sucks to do 1.55$ per hour working 8 hours and having one single day off the Wednesdays, the job was basically being an all-in-one employee for a supermarket and we were forced to work 12 hours in holidays, I spent new yeark working and had to work the next day (1 January) in the evening. I don't need to add that it was just stressing as fvck, chairs? What's that? We don't even had a f*cking fan in the storage we were forced to eat lunch at. It was preferible to eat at the stairs were the air-conditioning of the store still reached. It was a Thermal sensation of 92°F there! Not to mention the awful paiment… And the discounts added to it, that means that if something is robbed it…
So a few weeks ago we had one of those townhall meetings. All the board members basically boasting about how well the business is going, showing off the numbers, speaking about how we are way beyond our targets. And then the Q&A session comes, and the most asked question is whether we're gonna have company-wide raises to compensate for the inflation. And the HR lady comes up and says that no, because “we dont give people inflation raises, but we're gonna try give more people raises this year, but we cant promise you anything, because we are merging with that one company we have just bought for gazillions of dollars”. Well Betsy, your stupid merger won't pay my rent. Ugh, the audacity of those people
