I have not had luck finding a second job, but I’m the mean time, I am fighting to raise my staff’s salaries by at least $5,000. I don’t want to leave my staff without a proper raise.

Let go of today after 2 days.
I started at a company 2 days Making decent enough money(20.00hr) 60 hrs a week. Being a dispatcher for a fuel company. I’ve done prior dispatching in the past Nothing raised alarms to me on me doing poorly. So I was confused as to why I received this text message. After my shift today. Hi , “After talking with the management team, we’re unfortunately going to part ways. We don’t think the job is going to be a good fit for you or for us. Thank you for your time and efforts. Take care”. Now mind you I was catching on really fast. Asked lots of questions on there systems even took notes. On how things should be done. I really don’t see a reason as to why this would have come about. And it really hurt my feelings knowing I couldn’t have tried any harder. I even showed up…
There are good bosses out there
I know this is the r/antiwork, but I just thought I’d share something my new boss sent me to remind people that there are some really good ones out there. I requested a half day off to drive north for a competition. I’m coming from the military and am used to having to justify explain every single decision I make, so I did so when submitting that request. I hope you all have or one day have a boss like mine.

What would happen if we all just refused to pay them? With the cancellation thing still up in the air, why the fuck would I pay? What’s the worst they could do?

They said that business was slow, orders weren’t coming in like they used to, and I was the last to be hired so of course I had to be let go. Everyone at that company was either family or friends, which did make me feel iffy at first, but I had to get out of the job I was in prior to this one. I’m glad I’m not where I was, but of course I’m kicking myself. I have a feeling they never intended to have me on permanently. My benefits would have started in just a couple of…
I agree 100%.
Being born in the 90s.
I see a lot of these posts but here is my situation. I know it’s not a terrible one but its not fun either. Married. No kids. We want to have kids so we bought a house last year. We had savings from being single and didn’t sell our prior home. It’s a rental property now. Our new home interest rate sucks and cost a little over asking, but we needed the bedrooms. We both have good jobs. Not 6 figures but good jobs. We are cutting even. I just find it so crazy that we did everything right. School, jobs, investments, and are frugal yet we aren’t ahead. We don’t vacation and have a 250 dollar a month entertainment (eating out, movies, etc) budget. Our cars are old and paid off. I know we are better than most, and I feel blessed but still… this market gives me no…
