Applied for a job because I plan to leave my current one. On $30/hr but only 20hrs. Looking for 40hrs, or a pay raise. Was very clear that I want full time work. Offered $25/hr for 25hrs. Like thats not what I want and I already was clear before you tried to get me to do a trial shift

Was told by my company last week that they don't have enough funds to keep me on. The reason? The projects they thought would crop up by now didn't really materialize because the industry is going through the big C related recession. (Logistics/supply chain related engineering industry) They probably knew for a couple of months that this would happen. Had a check in with my manager and she mentioned nothing. I had a sinking feeling when a check in call was suddenly put on my calendar for a Thursday afternoon, and lo and behold, my worst fears came true. How are they going to use the money saved from letting me go? They will use them to hire another person who will do his job PLUS my responsibilities. Ha. Ha ha. Ha freaking ha. They have no idea what my workload is. Upper management is either delusional or lying to…
“How apathetic the employees are” “Like robots” another review said. Fuck you. Everyone here is struggling. The manager has two weeks to rear and take care of her newborn infant. The high schooler is ruining his future for the approval of some incipient manager by working 70 hrs a week. I’m struggling with alcoholism. I have no benefits. No way out. No motivation to improve since I see how much they abuse the managers and you want a smile? You’re the fat pigs who order 8 large fries or get mad at me because I have no quarters or nickels and have to spend an extra 15 secs counting out your change when you handed me a 20$ for a $1 Diet Coke. Americans. If you enter a fast food establishment you don’t simply don’t pay enough for good service, or at least our employers don’t. I don’t want to…
For the majority of people on earth, that would be a major raise. If the U.S. divided it’s wealth, it would be almost $350k/year per legal US citizen. 10x the world divide. Even if these exact figures could be disputed, and even though there’s not feasible way to actually divide all wealth equally, I think it’s an interesting way to contextualize what I’m worth, what I deserve.
Ridiculed in front of everyone
in a meeting yesterday by a manager for not being proactive and transparent about a problem that I brought to light over a week ago and mentioned in almost every meeting daily since. When brought up again yesterday, it was like this manager magically heard it for the first time even though he attended meetings before where this subject was brought up. He flipped the narrative to make me look like the idiot in front of his peers. This diminishes any kind of satisfaction being there.
Some context: Me (F) along with two other people (M and F, not related in any way) started working at a well-known local grocery store chain a year ago last month. Ever since we started, the female coworker has been bossing me around CONSTANTLY even when I’m doing my work (helping customers/making food for the cases). I’m autistic, so naturally, I don’t take kindly to people who tell me what to do (except for managers and authoritative people in the company). I’ve brought up this issue with HR on multiple occasions, but nothing’s been done. I’ve even asked my fellow colleagues working in the same department as me about this and they told me they’ve had the same experience with the same coworker. So, am I right to look for another job? Or do you think I should stay?
