5 years and $120,000 later I'm drowning in debt and working in fast food. I have many usefull skills from the many things I learned in college and tech school. None of them can get me a job. I went to a programming bootcamp to learn to code and couldn't get a job afterwards because I “didn't have a degree.” -$8,000 I spent 5 years in college getting a degree in computer science. Now I am told I don't have enough professional programming experience. -$120,000 How can I get professional programming experience to get that first job without first having the job? I have 2 apps in the Google Play Store. I have done freelance work for several websites. Why does this not count? BS in CS and training in JavaScript, React, React Native, Ruby, and Rails. Also learned and have used C, C++, Python, HTML, CSS, SQLite, Postgres, Firebase,…
Not because I just hate paying taxes, but because I specifically hate paying taxes while countless wealthy parasites continue to evade paying them without being scared of the consequences. I hate how I, by having the unfortunate luck of being born into a non-wealthy family, constantly have to worry if my math is off so I don't end up in prison. I struggle with math big time so this is a very real fear for me Every time I see another wealthy person brag about “look at how much taxes I paid this year!!” it just makes me want to punch a wall /end rant
If your job is forcing you to return to the office and you don’t want to the solution is do less work or be less productive. Let their numbers show this was a bad idea. And if your manager notices just make up excuses; not comfortable enough, people keep bothering me, too hot/cold. Whatever works best/makes the most sense. If they make us suffer let’s make their bottom line suffer.
Just got back 3 hours every day
Just quit my job today. Because they won’t let me work remotely. Even though i proved for 2 years it can be done. Took a year to find the perfect gig. But now no more commuting (2 hrs per day) plus the lunch hour i never took. Plus i got a raise! Fuck corporate america and their high rises and shitty floor plans and bad ventilation. Fuckem all!!
