I’ve been working in a club for the last year, which has been a good change. Less rules, very relaxed environment. No hourly wage so really we have the opportunity to make as much as we want assuming there’s money in the club that night. But the type of people that work in this industry are the WORST. Girls come and work for a few weeks, if we’re lucky, a month or 2. And then just quit with no warning leaving me and 1 other waitress/doorgirl fucked. And these girls know that if they do that we will have to work every single night until they hire someone new. We don’t work short shifts either. I’m talking 10-12 hours 7 days a week when this shit happens bro. Last time it took over a month for a new hire. They try to be selective and weed out the ones that…
pandemic over life back to normal??
I have been constantly trying to find a job after being laid off from a huge company after22 years. I was on LinkedIn today and this hiring manager seemed to be complaining about a one year work gap? But he patted himself on tje back that he ignored the gap and have the kid a chance. We are coming out of a pandemic…nothing is normal! Corporate is treating it like we should be falling in line like status quo prior to pandemic. I have been struggling for 3 years, 2 years pandemic and honestly my niche career in TV advertising sales is not needed anymore, everyone wants digital people with over 10 years experience. I am so frustrated right now because corporate greed is truly taken over. They are phasing out the middle class the people making money are the rich are getting richer. They are saying unemployment is up,…
How will anything get done?
Hi y’all, I’m not trying to be a troll here I promise. I’m honestly just wondering what you guys have in mind. If we all stop working, how will we get things done? Where will the food and clean water and houses and cars come from?In short, if nobody works how will we see to our needs?
https://www.ssa.gov/oact/cola/central.html One of the favorite arguments of our fellow moderate democrats arguing that the US really isn't that bad for lower income people compared to say France or Germany is to often cite GDP per capita alongside lower tax rates to somehow explain that despite lacking any sort of reasonable safety net Americans enjoy a much larger income and therefore comparable QoL(insert agency/ur poor cuz u dun spend ur money right!!). Well here you go the bottom 50 percent makes approx 34k/20$ per hour or less. I remember even some pundits like Matthew Iglesias arguing as much, which is shameful since mean vs median is like 5th to 7th grader statistics. Follow source for convenient cost of living calculator to argue with your boomer parents and grandparents on how they are statistically wrong about just everything. It took me 5 years to “break in” where I currently live. And for the past 3 years I've had no problem getting job offers. There's a community of 35-55 year old folks in the industry I work here in who move around between the management and owner jobs. They trade favors and clout by hiring each others friends or family. It doesn't matter how skilled or efficient you are your ability to stay employed with what we do is 100% about being “in” and knowing all the drama and who likes to shit talk about who, who likes to play cards, or board games, or go biking, or music. Often they don't like each other but being “in” is enough lol. I've known since high school that al ot of the world works this way but figured it can't be how an ENTIRE industry operates 100% of the time…
I quit my abusive job 4 months ago. After a series of emails about the experience letter, they finally replied me after 2 months and gave me the bank details to pay the money(was in the contract) and said after this they will provide me with the documents. Which I did within the 3 days of receiving the bank details. And then they confirmed that they recieved the amount. But when I asked them about the documents they stopped replying me and now I send hem a text every Monday asking for the documents. (I think I won't get the documents, but in rare case I do get them, I am thinking to reply to them saying that this is why I quit.)

Career path means . . .
A career path means it takes a long time to promote you to the next level, and there are always a lot of levels, so you can work your whole life and probably never get to the top—you are working and they are collecting part of your money, forever. Just work harder and get to the next level! Nice path.
