I've been starting to see lots of noise that we may be seeing the tailend of the pandemic. For some reason, this gave me an anxious feeling in the pit of my stomach that society will go back to life before the pandemic. I feel like the pandemic helped to give people time to stop, analyze, and re-evaluate life. No one wants to work for shit companies. No one wants to work for shit pay. No one wants the stress and pain of trying to make ends meet by side hustling or selling out their hobbies because corporations want to keep paying shit wages. No one wants an imbalanced work-life ratio. People want to actually enjoy life and not spend majority of their waking hours at work. Right now, I feel that majority of the population is really making it apparent to corporations and recruiters that they're not playing their…

Neon Museum Las Vegas took away our tips
I was hired at the Neon Museum as a tour guide. I was told I could accept tips. Last week the entire staff had a meeting. The CEO put a clear box on the counter and told us we could not accept tips and if we were offered tips, we had to put them in the clear donation box. https://preview.redd.it/hooo5ff0koi81.png?width=526&format=png&auto=webp&s=b228ab1d93a323585cc0017cddffb6a3dd36d4bb The Museum admin says we are “education” so we don't deserve tips. In fact, this is about a 40 percent pay cut for us. They brought this up in a meeting that actually was embarrassing for our staff because for us to advocate, many people had to disclose their finances and that they can't make it…

Safeway is not so safe
Do you even have a proper first aid kit?
I feel like some of the most important parts of this new labor rights movement is still being severely overlooked. I know this problem can be regional as I have worked in multiple states, but the current state I live and work in, public health and safety regulation is absent. The mandatory fliers are on the wall stating the minimum aspects of a safe and healthy workplace, but most restaurants and small businesses I’ve worked with (again especially in this state), don’t even have a proper first aid kit. I found this out the hard way multiple times. Last night after requesting that we get a proper first aid kit and my boss saying (and this is a direct quote) “figure out what we may be missing and put that on the grocery list” I found…
