I was leaving a terrible job after 5 years of mental health decline, and was ready to take literally any job while giving up a decent salary since my wife had recently received a big promotion. I found a job listing for a medical supply company that paid a little above minimum wage, and was full time. I have worked at my job for 16 months and only two people are left from when I started. Our company goes through an employee every 3 months or so (in an office of 10). We have been down a person for almost two months, lost one to a surgery & one girl was out with Covid. I have been picking up the slack of many because of call outs and new employees. Last week I called off for two days to level my head, talk to my boss and explain why I was feeling burnt out and angry. She said she understood, and yet, upon coming back, I was still expected to work the job of four different roles for the price of one. It seems like there is a post in here every day about someone getting ousted on their day off, or something anti-business, or “Unprofessional”. I don’t know how in 2022 people still don’t get this, but y’all need to keep your private life separate from your professional life. If you want some next level strategy, create an entire business persona filled with cats hanging from branches and share THAT one with your boss. Seriously block everyone, even Margaret. Her cookies on friendly-Friday are tasty but she’s corporate to the core and will turn on you so fast your head will spin.

Our circumstance is one of the few hurting the many. You are the many, you can bring this entire apparatus to it's knees. Our labor generates EVERYTHING we see, it's about time we start acting like it.

My husband was just reminded of a time when his former employer's HR manager decided to patrol bathroom time. A note was attached to their checks, saying they need to take advantage of their break times to use the bathroom.
