The next time your Fortune 500 company throws a pizza party instead of giving you wage increases, more pto or other incentives for meeting goals… Let’s all just stop eating the pizza. if they are not rewarding us with what we actually need (more time and money) let’s just refuse to accept it and state what we actually want. Can we all just make one tiny move toward our appreciation. I’m so sick of spending all my money at the grocery store and on bills

Clocking in early=stealing time?
Our managers have let us know that clocking in even 1 minute before our scheduled start time is stealing from the company. Over the past 5 years I've worked here, we've regularly clocked in as early as 5 minutes before our shift, then got to work. Management knows we don't just click in and stand around chatting until the clock ticks over (we assemble for meetings, check in with managers to find out what our tasks are, a manager signs out equipment to us…), so somehow if I'm counting in my register before the clock hits 9:00 it's theft? At the same time there's no compunction against telling us our daily tasks while we wait at the time clock to clock in, or poking their heads into the break room to discuss work while we're clocked out…
Started a job a month ago, already interviewing other places. The main reason is what people in this sub typically understand- the hiring manager will say anything. In this case, I was told to pick my hours, so I chose 8am-4pm. It worked well for my family’s schedule. Earlier today, I got invited to a site visit starting at 3:45 at a partner location. I declined as it is 25 miles from my office and starts 15 minutes before my end of day. I just got spoken to for needing to be “more flexible”, and that I need to accept that site visit invitation. When I explained my reason, I was told to “arrange someone else to pick up your kids, or to do whatever it is you need done”. I was told that these visits are common and often after 3:30. I asked how flexible THEY are since I…
I see this all the time on my job hunt. Minimum wage was raised to 13.20 this January, and I’m still seeing employers offering 12.50 or less. I even saw an 11.10 for a local business. Do they want to get reported??
Doing Nothing at Work
Does anyone else feel happy when they can just sit at work doing nothing all day? My job literally sucks so bad when I have to actually do work, so when there's nothing to do it's the greatest thing ever. Today I have nothing to do and I hope it stays that way all day. Seriously fuck this company. I hope everyone else here commits some “time theft” today.
So I've starting working for this tech company recently and I was given a contract for part-time work for X number of months for trial basis, after which time they would review my contract and hire me full-time. Within a couple of weeks of working, my boss gets in touch with me and says that they've decided to hire me full-time, but that he needs to meet with me to iron out of the details. At the meeting he says that they're happy with my progress and even though it's only been a couple of weeks since I started, they want to take me on full-time and give me another project. There's a caveat. He says that he's been told that the salary I'm currently being paid is too much for the geographical region in which I'm located, and that they would like to renegotiate my contract to pay me…
