Tomorrow is a national holiday in our country so almost no business is open (except essential). Also, non essential companies end work one hour earlier than usual the day before holiday. Not only tomorrow we will have to work from home, but also we were not allowed to leave work earlier today as every other company. Our boss motivates us by saying “since we work with other international companies, they do not celebrate this day, thus we have to adapt to them”. Which sound reasonable, except whenever these other companies we work with celebrate their holidays, we have to adapt to them and not bother them on their free days. It would be fine if they paid us for that work from home on holidays (in our country it is obligatory for business to pay double the salary if people work on holidays), however, our company thinks that since we…

Got made redundant today
So I went back to work today after a week off sick and attended my 121 meeting with my boss. I join the call and I see her boss and HR and start crapping it. Well, they shared that the new CEO has been restructuring all departments and now he’s looked at the Marketing department and he’s essentially cut it in half. So half of us are losing our jobs and I’m one of the ones going because my ‘role is no longer necessary to the business’. Not really sure how they’re going to run all the campaigns and push out the content they want without a copywriter, but okay. What I hate is I’ve consistently done overtime to deliver deadlines, pushed myself to get everything done over and over…only to get this in return? I specifically joined the company for job security, but I guess job security is just…
HR 301 – S.H.A.R.E. ACT – Secure Housing and Real Estate Act In an effort to save the American Dream of Home Ownership this act provides the following: By the year 2030, all Single-Family Detached Homes in the United States of America must be classified as owner-occupied only. Resignation letter.
Little backstory. I work at a psychiatric hospital and rehab center as a cook. My boss keeps saying I don’t care and have a bad attitude which couldn’t be farther from the truth. We have a meeting with the cfo because we served French fries yesterday instead of potato wedges and I was told the sloppy joes today will look “ridiculous “ with wedges instead of crinkle cut fries. So at the meeting I will read this letter and hand in my two week notice. “I’ve never missed a shift. Never been late. I pick up shifts out of my availability. I’ll come in early and I’ll stay late. I worked the day after my dad died and only took one day to mourn because I know we’re short staffed. Im always in a good mood. The patients like me. Im always nice to everyone. I try to make the…
I am a mechanic. I am certified and have 20 years of experience. Over the last few years the daily aches and pains have begun to affect me outside of work, to the point that when I get off work, I just want to sit in my recliner with a heating pad on my back. After work I am so physically burnt out I dread having to keep up with the house. I have zero energy left over or my body aches so bad I am in no mood to do anything. Last August I suffered an injury to my right elbow at work that resulted in surgery. I look at my co-workers in there late 50's and realize the road I am headed down. Arthritis and riddled with pain. I don't want to end up like that. So I made a profile and posted my resume on indeed over…
If we've had any kind of functional parenting in our childhood, we've been taught to be respectful of others, perhaps to even be deferential to people who are older than us (depending on your culture). Add to this, if you grew up in middle-America where being nice and non-confrontational is a societal norm, then you know how uneasy (maybe even downright frightening) it is to actually BE confrontational. Abusive managers bank on this. It is this fear of what others might think, or what drama might ensue that keeps too many of us quiet. Even if we manage to find the words to respond when asked something inappropriate, or when boundaries have been crossed, if a bully can smell fear or intimidation, they often try to double-down until we are silenced. The older I get, the less shits there are to give. When I was young I was easily intimidated.…
