So at the beginning I thought it could be a really great position, turns out hey don't pay you for training and expect you to 'invest' in this job. The fucking partner of the company told me people get gig work with doordash, ubereats, etc. until they complete training. If I wanted to do that I would. Not to mention needing to pay for licensing's on top of that. Once I looked into the company it turns out it's an insurance MLM where you work under someone and you could start your own if you do well enough. I feel stupid for getting dragged into but thankful I saw how fucked that is. For anyone interested in the name it's Symmetry financial, if you're looking for work from home options stay far away.

Does anyone else’s boss require them to ask your coworkers if “it’s okay” to take a day off? I have to do this and I’ve always thought it was a bit unnecessary if you’re giving them at least a month in advance notice.
It’s completely unfair for employers to hold onto paychecks for a month. Totally normal for an employee to have to wait 2 weeks for their first paycheck, or maybe 3 weeks depending on if the start date fell on a weird payroll cutoff date. These employers are literally stealing from their monthly paid employees.
This will be a long one, so I apologize. Tl; dr: Treated poorly and unfairly by supervisor, finally took my life back and quit the FT position that makes me miserable and will only do the PT position that brings me joy. I’ve been working at my current job for over a year now. It’s adjacent to what my bachelor’s degree is in, so I enjoy what I do, and I also enjoy nearly all of the people I work with. I’ve really never worked for a greater bunch of people. That being said, there is no work/life balance, and I’m exhausted. I’m unhappy in my position, and I’ve tried, countless times, to resolve the issue. I was told tough luck by my supervisor. I’m currently FT in one position and PT in another (the PT one I love. It’s what my degree is in. The FT is adjacent). I…
new job is a dream come true
So I got a job in a production facility 2 years ago. (Not naming them as I am dealing with a work comp thing) . This place was hands down the most toxic place I have ever worked. I fell about a month ago and serially injured myself. Since the injury I was told I was not dependable, I was worthless, etc. This was just the icing on the cake. Last week, I was told that I'd be better off dead. So I just clocked out and left. Screw that. Got a new job two days later. I started at my new place three days ago. I just got a raise today. And this was after a major screw up on my part . I dropped a production piece. An expensive production piece and it broke. Last one in the plant. Went to my supervisor expecting to be yelled at,…
Quit my Army job today.
3 wars and FT office during covid I enough. They can fight the next war without my mad accounting skills!
Put in my two weeks!
So short version is, I moved a 1000 miles across the country for a supposedly great career opportunity. That was in October of 2021. By day 3 there are some big red flags, and I noticed things that were blatantly misrepresented/lied about. Not given the resources to do my job, paycheck was not deposited on payday, etc. So today I finally got an offer for a better role and immediately drafted a resignation letter. Shocked my Boss and his like second sentence was like “This is not ideal”. I wanted to be like F you I guess I won’t be nice and give my two weeks, but I wanted to be polite and held my tongue, plus that two weeks is easy money. They won’t fire me, because I then wouldn’t have to payback the measly relocation allowance. What I’m struggling with now is my boss asked me not to…
I’ve applied to more than 40 jobs that I’m more than qualified for, they’re places that always says “we are short staffed, sorry for the inconvenience” I even called some of them to let them know that I applied and the only answer I get back is “you will have to wait until we see all the applications”. It’s bullshit, everytime I go to those places they’ve the same people doing multiple task, short staffed and trying to make people feel pity for them. They just don’t want to hire anyone and it’s so sad how mindless sheep people don’t see that and put all the blame on unemployed people. I’m tired of this, we have to do better than this. Sorry for the rant.
