Recently I was fired without cause. I worked for a dispensary in a heavily regulated state. The owners had been trying to get me to help them purchase black market bulk weed to sell as tested, regulated product in the store (very illegal). Now that I’m gone I’ve heard from several local growers / friends that they’re actively purchasing black market weed from growers and from out of state, and repackaging to sell in their store. I’d love to prove this, but I don’t know any of the local growers well enough to approach. These people are horrible employers who underpay their staff, opt to import cheap labor rather than hire locally, being on family members with no experience for high paid positions, use and abuse their employees casually etc. they check all the boxes for toxic workplace, without even getting into the illicit activities. When I was fired I…

About a week ago, I went on vacation for a week, and I did tell my manager of this two months in advance in a group chat, come the vacation ending, I text my manager “I have returned, and I'll be available to work starting Wednesday” to which I received no response. Two days ago, I went up to my workplace myself, but my manager wasn't working on that day. I told my coworker to ask her to text me, because I'd like to be scheduled, and I gave my coworker a sheet stating the times for my drivers training courses (I'm 15). It has been two days since then, and I have not received any word from my manager about being scheduled again. I really need money right now, so this isn't fair to me. I was wondering if there was anything that I can do about this? I…

How to improve
If this is against the rules of this sub feel free to delete. I am a small company owner. I want to treat my team fairly and retain them for years to come. I also want them to be happy to come to work. This is my alt account for “reasons” I know people want to work, but what would motivate beyond fair wages and generally being a decent human? Any advice is more then welcome.
How do you cope whit day to day work?
I have a job I hate and gives me just enough to live but quitting isn't an option and changing jobs isn't either…man it sucks to be South American
Everyone at my workplace agrees we get fucked. We're underpaid, raises suck, we're overworked and our equipment is dangerously under maintained. I've asked here about how to actually form a union and I was told to gauge support. I asked some coworkers I thought for certain would support the idea but they got cold feet. We're worried about paying dues and getting fired for trying to take part or having the shop shut down. Should I just give up here? I think it'd do a lot of good but no one besides me and one other person actually want to go for it.
The American Dream Doesn’t Exist
I really hate to see people on here hurting so badly. Americans don't deserve this. Politicians are outright stealing from us, and we can't do anything to stop it. Now they're exploiting us for even greater profit than before. I have no issue with a person who wants to make money, I have an issue with someone who makes money off of the suffering and hurt of their fellow countrymen. America is a great place to live, but Americans are in a really terrible spot. This can't keep going on like this, or there won't be an America to hold on to and fight for. We deserve better.
