I started a new job at an old machine shop last summer, and honestly I loved it. Chill job, very lax environment, good people, and overall I enjoyed the work. All of my coworkers are in their 50's-60's and have been there for 15-25 years. Soon after I started a couple people left, one for better opportunity, one for amazing medical benefits (his wife is ill), and the other because he had to give his full time job his attention. So many stories on here about a certain wage and then, “oops that's not right” when it comes to being hired. How is that even legal? If I did that where I work you sure as shit know if be drawn, quartered, reviewed and investigated for being a shitty person. Just blows my mind

Looking for: Competitive pay= as low as we can give you. Self motivator= no training and you must figure out the job on your own. Ambitious= will you work hard for empty promises and low wages? Benefits= unless you make more than $20 an hour, you cant afford our health insurance. Fun staff= back stabbing and brainwashed co workers whose soul has been sucked out. I'm an Assistant Community Manager for Thrive Communities Management in Seattle, making $20 hr, new to the industry hired three months ago. Apparently, my regional manager decided to withhold my leasing commissions for not completing online training courses, because running two site's/200 residents/160+ units wasn't enough. Middle managers/corporate do nothing but look for ways to screw over employees and dodge responsibilities. Here I am homeless, leasing apartments all day at insanely high amounts, and a regional manager who has spoken to me once is withholding the money I desperately need for a place to live – for nothing. I had a job interview for a line cook position. The manager asked for my resume multiple times via email beforehand and I did not own a printer or have a car so I didn’t print out a physical copy for the interview. When I arrived they asked me who was conducting the interview with me. I have anxiety and the name from the email I received was difficult to pronounce so I said “I’m not sure.” The manager sits me down and tells me I should be embarrassed for not bringing a resume and not knowing the name of the person interviewing me, acted like it would be ridiculous to even consider me at this point.
