How long will we have to show proof of vaccination to work? I mean we have many vaccines as babies, but no one has asked to see my proof of measles vaccination in awhile. At some point will they just stop asking about this? -By the way I'm not anti-vaccine nor is this post intended to be a political statement.
I don't want to give too much information, but I want to know if I'm making a mistake and thought this community would be brutally honest. I am not college educated and have never before been in management. I worked as a bank teller and in accounts receivable until I had my first child. I have been out of the workforce for 16 years. Last year, I heard about a company needing a P/T (6 hours/day) receptionist. I decided to dip my toes back into the working world. Life was starting to become too expensive to live off one income. I am very intelligent. I excelled in school and although I stopped working, I never stopped learning. I read and am self-taught in a lot of different areas. I am a good and reliable worker. I don’t abuse company policies, but I make sure I do take all benefits that…
So I got a job at a small business in September because I wanted to have some steady income while I work on side hustles that could become full time. Before I got hired. I mentioned that I didn't want to work every Saturday 1 because it would be 1 day off I could have with my SO and 2 because I have D&d. They said that it was fine if I could work every other Saturday but when I showed up for my on Saturday they were like oh sorry we actually need you to work every Saturday. They said I could leave early if I wanted to but it was pretty obvious they had no intention of ever giving me that day off. Then I asked her if I could get set up on direct deposit because I need to build up credit and cards like Chime require…
Title;
Ever just driven through a city and see those huge (and many times ugly) high rises for some of the most corrupt companies, banks, landlords, etc. and think “all of this probably started as a nice idea on a napkin somewhere for a business. That business has morphed into packing as many humans as possible into a tiny footprint. A footprint subdivided into even smaller and smaller squares of existence to squeeze every penny of productivity from every employee. All this so they can leave this tiny cube in their tall cube to hopefully one day pass the taller cube by another business. Then when they leave their tiny cube, they can hop in a mobile tiny cube take a horizontal tube to another moderately sized cube where they enter their living cube. Rinse, wash, repeat.”
Can I still use my CA sick leave?
Used to work at Domino’s. The 2 weeks before I was gonna quit I informed the GM to use my sick pay. The time I got my paycheck it wasn’t applied. I didn’t really have time to give them a 2 week notice since my new job had me start so I ended up attending only one day of my work week on the last week I was at domino’s. My question is, can I still use my sick pay even though I am already not an employee of the company? I did tell them I wanted to use my sick pay… but the owner/the one handling the checks was probably not informed.
