Corporate has been really hounding my salon lately about vital care, and today was the last straw. We are doing everything we can, but it's apparently not good enough- there are literally only three of us (2 groomers and me, the bather) doing around 20-25 dogs a day on top of countless responsibilities since we are understaffed and a receptionist is just too outlandish. Starting tomorrow, we will now be written up for every customer not spoken to about VC and grooming perks, and we were made to sign a paper today saying Grooming Perks “IS NOT OPTIONAL”…. They literally want us to force customers to install their garbage app and tell them it is not optional. I am quitting the SECOND I get another job lined up. Fuck you petco.

How do you miss the point this hard
Hello, I’m an Italian high school student and I wanted to talk about what’s happening here. Basically, in 2015 a bullshit law was emanated that to graduate from high school kids have to complete a certain amount of hours of unpaid work, in some schools the students can pick where and in others the school will choose. The intention was to teach proper work ethic and to allow us to learn some skills, but in reality we ended up getting exploited by private companies and learning absolutely nothing. I was lucky and had a good experience (volunteer work) but my classmates ended up spending 90 hours printing files or flipping burgers. But guess what? This month two students DIED on the job, and dozens have been injured these last years. They died because they were forced to work in unsafe conditions, for goddamn free. They were 16 and 18, working…
I need some opinions here. Had a couple virtual interviews today and the last one, the primary guy asking the questions started to cut in and out of the meeting. I mentioned this and it got better then it got really bad and I couldn't hear him at all toward the end of the call so it became kind of awkward. Do I blame him and possibly just ghost on the rest of the interview process? Or is it not his fault, just an internet glitch I should ignore?
UnExcused absence/tardy at work
Hello! I’m new here and to Reddit in general. A friend recommended I post here for some help. I work in a call center taking health insurance phone calls. I have an important doctor appointment coming up in 4 weeks. I am currently in training again because I’m being moved to a new department. On the date of the appointment I will be out of training and in nesting taking calls. I reached out to my supervisor today to let her know about the tardy and what do I need to do in order to have it excused. I told her I would have the doctors note and be calling our attendance line in accordance with our attendance policy. She let me know that the tardy will not be excused even with a doctors note. What should I do, where do I go from here? I’ve looked at our attendance…
Found out why I'm not being called in for sub teaching work after I sent an email asking why I'm barely getting called in after the New Year. It's because some folk on their list are turning up each day, even if there's work or not, and getting stuff on the spot so monopolising all the cover work that is available. The school knows fine well they've got fully capable others on their books but giving them little to no opportunities. I live 50 minutes away from the school so getting there for 7.45 every morning isn't really possible, especially given my sleep medication. So tempted to call it out and quit by sending a frank email to the principal, it's my only source of income at the moment given that I'm unable to get Student Finance due to some bizarre Brexit rule. Tempted to drop my teaching career entirely…
I've been doing art since 2017 but only now i started working as a freelancer artist. But this is just to make some extra money while looking for a job as an electronics technician. Last week i had an interview and the interviewer (somehow) found out that who i am and because of this i didn't get the job. Is there anyway to avoid this? I already use an alias and never mentioned it on my resume.
Antiwork Anthem
Recognition or Favoritism?
Work for a multi-billion dollar telecommunications company as a sales associate with one other associate. This associate and I run the store. Management is 2 hours away. Our store made the #1 sales store in the region for January. Associate got a letter from regional (5 ranks above ours) thanking them and them only for placing our store in #1 ranking. Literally nothing said to me. We have equal responsibilities. I make sales. I manage paperwork, process bill payments, troubleshoot, clean, keep customers satisfied (or at least convince them that they’re satisfied), set up trouble calls, build customers accounts, track my interactions, etc. Also did some math and found that a month worth of met quota sales pays me out $390 for the month. The company makes $25,000 a year for that month of subscriptions. I’m awarded $4k a year in commission if I meet 12 months quota compared to…
