A lot of people on this sub have probably seen the drama over the railroad’s new attendance policy, and how they’re using the courts and laws to block union strikes (if not, search it). On a couple of those posts, I commented with a long explanation about why it would be difficult for the employees to even do a soft strike, especially once the policy was actually enacted. My husband worked for BNSF for nearly eight years, so we were pretty familiar with the difficulties of the railroad. I’m super excited to say now that my husband got a job as an electrician apprentice! It’s going to be tough for a couple years, but we’re so happy for how good this will be for the long term.

Recently hired for a part-time (20hrs a week) job that's been ghosting me for over three months. Everything was going just fine until I let the employer know I would need more time before my start date to find housing. They knew I didn't have another job, as well as no permanent place to stay. And that I was very interested in the full-time position. The Bay Area isn't cheap, and $20ph isn't even that much at 40hrs a week. I told them to send me my schedule in writing so I could have something to show potential employers and landlords. And that I would let them know as soon as possible when I found another job to help meet basic income requirements for shelter and other animal needs. After that, I got nothing. No response. Just complete silence. And the full-time position is still available.
An important thing to remember…
Hello all! Like many of you, I have been job searching and while applying for many places online I was contacted by this company with the name of Team Hired. It was for a data entry job, which I was definitely looking for. I of course applied and it had linked me to a calendar sort of website where I would schedule an interview. The only days they were supposedly doing interviews were Fridays at 11 AM. So I signed up for the slot that would have happened today. I got up early today and got ready (making sure to dress professionally) before getting on my computer and clicking the link to the meeting that was to be happening. It was a zoom meeting and once I joined I saw there were many others at this “interview” which sort of threw me off. Now here is where I messed up…
A friendly reminder about managers
Just like cops they're fucking idiots. They're selected because they're compliant and dull. Just like cops they have never had to earn any respect or authority so they have no real sense of either. Just vacant eyes and a script they've been taught to follow. Don't feel bad about exploiting this. The most useful tool for enemy agents is garnering sympathy while exploiting their employees. “Oh we're like a family here, and Margie's out sick, and gosh darn it Jim just hasn't been pulling his weight. Remember two years ago I let you have 2 whole days off for your wedding? Into just saying we really need you to come in this weekend.” Do not fall for their Yakubian tricknology. Steel yourself by counter programming your mind by reverse engineering the neuro-lingistic triggers embedded in the employee manuals they distribute. Learn to read the fine print because that will always…

Book keeper fired me
On February 10th I took off last minute to go to the doctors for my disability. Later that day the company book keeper informed me that Chris our general manager needed a doctors note. I texted her an image of the note. The next day I presented that note to the GM and he said “ok”. Fast forward on February 15th the book keeper confronted me asking me all sorts of personal questions regarding my doctors visit on February 10th and I told her I don’t feel comfortable discussing my visit because it is violating my hippa rights. Mind you she didn’t even pull me aside to talk about it. She mentioned my disability in front of the staff which they had no business knowing. She demanded that I told her in detail what happened at my doctors visit. I told her I am not going to do that because…
Title says it all. I was expected to call in Daily and explain that no, I don't have a vehicle, no my mother is still in a hospital bed, and no I don't really mentally feel like coming into work. This happened about a week ago at my lovely lovely job on top of the active covid, the calling in Fiasco with covid, and not receiving my $1 raise although having the stress and duties of a shift leader since November
