I work for a unionized company. I have a fairly well-paid position as a finance professional. I have always had the motivation to go above and beyond when asked to help even if it meant I was delayed in my daily tasks. I don't count my hours. Well, I just found out that many of my fellow professionals have files with several “inefficiency” complaints in their name and even that is not enough to get them fired! It's not in my plans to have those complaints either. But it puts me in perspective.

Hey everyone! Currently dealing with a sticky situation at my job, I work at a corporate owned dental office that is quickly going down hill. We have been closing unexpectedly a lot due to being short staffed and the lack of doctors since a lot of them have left the company. My job does not compensate us on those days we are closed, they told us to simply file for unemployment. I’m pretty sure it’s not right and kind of illegal to not pay an employee when you have absolutely no work for them. I just put my two weeks in and regional manager told me I will not be receiving my 90 hours of PTO that I accrued because I didn’t give them three weeks notice instead of two and apparently it’s in the handbook. Does this even sound right? I’m so genuinely annoyed that I worked so hard…
Temp Agencies can be such a ripoff
I've used one several times after layoffs, and currently am going through one right now. Well, I got to see what they're charged for my position versus what I make. I make $25 an hour. They're charged for $35 an hour. I never realized how big the discrepancy was.
Ever since the emergence of chat GPT and the multitude of AI art bot, there have been things done by automation that most people have never dreamed of. I have seen posts here and there about AI helping to solve legal cases doing paralegal work I have seen stuff about AI creating advertisements .We can consider that there is an extremely high percentage of jobs that can be done by automation. As time goes on we will approach the maximum number of jobs being replaced by automation just like how a limit works in mathematics. I firmly believe left -leaning politics needs to progress faster than this technology, because there can only be two distinct outcomes.
