Many times people don't know if the legal advice is applicable or not. If stating what country the post relates to was obligatory, that'd save time for helpers who don't know the local law AND give people more useful help if someone who knows the local law arrives. Furthermore, country (and state since afaik state laws differ) flairs for posts would also make it so it's easier for people to find useful information.
Boss not paying me
Hey y’all, need some help here. So I just got this new job delivering appliances, and it’s the worst thing I’ve ever gone thru. 14 hour+ days of driving around the state, moving heavy shit, for $140 a day. Yesterday , started at 6am. Got off today at 1:30 am. Was expected to come back to work at 5:30 today. Boss man has said if I don’t show up I will not get paid for the work I’ve done . Was supposed paid today but I haven’t received it and not sure I’m going too. He says because it’s contracted work they can not pay me. Is this true? I don’t even remember signing any contract during the onboarding process.

TLDR: I'm making an AMA to be challenged on the idea of building a public AI to help everyone stop working and still have access to resources to live. Ill use those Q&A to better document the project. Ill begin releasing documentation and software in the next days. Follow my account on reddit or on twitter to read updates on my progress. Imagine a world where everyone has a personal assistant. If you need something built, like a building or a complex product, you would discuss the project with this personal assistant and would answer back to you to build up the idea. It would then separate the project in small milestones for you and create a plan to execute your project successfully. The acquisition of resources and their transformation, to build your project would then be executed in the economy, automatically. In exchange of using scarce resources in the…
Wealth Inequality in America
So I recently gave a rocking performance review to an employee, and he is since working much slower (we started a deadline and daily check-in system), but has become much more friendly. He never used to eat with the team, and now sits right beside us during lunch break. He usually never had coffee with me in the morning and has abruptly started calling me for coffee. It seems like he is stalking me and sitting as close to me as possible in the office. He has also abruptly started dressing up for work (it’s not compulsory but he has usually come to the office in a jeans). When I talk to him he is still rude however. How would you handle this?
Hi, I'm seeking a little bit of advice as I've received a job offer, subject to DBS check and satisfactory references for a role within a school. However, my current employer (social care sector) is refusing to give a reference unless I hand in a written four week notice. Can they do this ? My major concern is that for whatever reason this new job falls through (relatively common in this sector) or if my DBS takes months to come back (again not entirely uncommon), that I will essentially be left without employment for an extended period if I have given notice with my current employer.
