Live in texas, and we have ice on the road. Called my job to tell them I wasn't coming in, I called them about 5 hours before my shift started. The hour my shift was supposed to start, and I got a call from them asking, “Where am I?” They also said that I am still required to work even though I am a new driver and have no experience driving in ice. Is a career in finance ethical?
As a young person trying to learn about different careers I'm keen to hear what your opinions are of the ethics of working in finance, particularly at somewhere like an investment bank or a hedge fund? She owned the car, and she said it was not safe for me to be driving 25 minutes to work for $8 an hour, so, the answer was no. I called my manager and let them know, and they said “well, why cant you just come anyway?” as if I, as a 16 year old girl, really had any say in the matter. I once again said no, so they forced another fellow 16 year old coworker of mine to drive 25 minutes from the store to my…
