Today my coworker accidentally left a copy of her W2 at the bottom of a stack of paperwork she gave. She has the same exact job title as me and 20 years of seniority on me at our employer and she is paid nearly $15,000 less than me per year. I truly believe if companies were required to have salary transparency today we'd all unionize tomorrow. And also I'm angry for her. I kinda want to tell her.

I’m leaving my corporate job. I don’t fit into this world. The reality has sunk in. I find it incredibly fake, all of the pointless meetings, contributing to birthdays for people I speak to once a month, pressure to “go above and beyond” and join pointless committees like a recycling committee, cliquey groups and my goodness the amount of brown nosing, kissing ass and sucking up … I simply can’t bring myself to do it. I see how some of my peers have climbed the ladder, they are on their emails at 11pm at night, they are competitive, ruthless and very cleverly plant the seed of doubt in their bosses heads that other people in the team aren’t very good or innocently say “ oh __ forgot to do that, so I took the initiative and did it”. These people are not your friends, you have to spend your own…
