Never really posted before but…
Getting sick of these bait and switch interviews. Anyone else familiar?
$20/hr, full benefits, paid sicktime, 401k, lunch daily
Etc
I was invited to this job as a cook for a prepping company and told it was a great company to work for they found my resume perfect to work with them and that they wanted to invite me to meet the hiring manager and they said they would be hiring on the spot; so I was excited.
Fast forward to the interview I am standing outside some industrial warehouse complex bc that is where the address takes me, waiting to be buzzed in outside where it's -2°F .
Finally am let in by someone who doesn't do the interviews and works for a different company to which I thank for saving me from the cold and they say, “ah here for an interview for 'X Company'? I said yes and be pointed me in the direction and I couldn't help but notice he kind of smirked. Finally meet the hiring manager as the employee from the different company walks me past him into the interview room, only for him to say , “were running a bit late – I'll meet you all in the interview room”
That's weird. I thought it was just me. Ok whatever.
I get into the room and find 6 others who also are in the dark (almost completely) about the position and its benefits. He comes back 10 minutes after the scheduled time and tells us all (in a jist) there was supposed to be 19 people but this is 'typical' lol and that they were only paying $15 not the $20 they offered (unless reviewed and promoted, etc) and that we would spend “the day” touring the facility and seeing what we would be doing and then at the end we would “meet his top people” and if “all of them approved of us” then we would all sit down and have a discussion lol…
I walked out then and there and told him, “sorry man. This is too many hoops to jump through “
Am I too picky??
