So, I was in a toxic work environment and immediately looked for a job with comparable schedule and pay $x p hour, weekends off, similar m-f schedule. I found one, I had my interview, pay and schedule was talked about, pay was confirmed through email. Email also confirmed that he received authorization for me to start working there so I quit my job. Weekend before I start he says I’ll be training at another location, when I get there I’m being paid differently and my schedule is going to be insane. I worked there a week to feel things out and I find out there may not actually be a position that I applied for and was approved for. I would not have quit my previous job if I hadn’t found a comparable job. I’d like to talk to my manager and hr (who said managers know about this stuff bc she’s the last to find out basically so that’s why I’d like to talk to my manager).
Is this legal? How do I go about asking them to fix it? At will state.
