Here we are legally given a 30 days vacation per year. Once my GM in the old company suggested that “I think you should take only 2 weeks vacation. I think that is enough for any reasonable person”. Needless to say, I wasn't reasonable and took me entire 30 days vacation. At that point I haven't seen my brother for 13 years (him and I live in different countries, both away from our home country) and this would be the first time I was going to meet his children (my nieces and nephews). I wasn't going to be “reasonable” and take only 2 weeks vacation when legally I can take 30 days.
Americans, try and be unreasonable to these people and put your family first.
