This is a small tale of how how and why I'm quitting my job as a dunkin worker. Also reminder, this isn't how all dunkins are but god this one in perticular is shit.
So first of all, I'm in NC. minimum wage is begging money here so it was cool to find out working at dunkin paid 15 an hour. I jumped on it and on my fourth day of work I'm promoted to assistant manager. Then I found out the general manager took money from tips to put it in the low safe or drawers. She also cut people's hours immediately if they were no call no show but her two daughters (and thier friends) got to sit around and throw donuts at each other as well as no call no show and still have full time shifts. I recognize that as shitty and try to get it handled correctly with the operation manager only to be met with a “I'll talk to her”. After the talking was over, I was scolded for bringing the operation manager into it and was told to just leave him out of everything and if the safe is low its our fault. Not fair at all. I try my hardest to get things in order, get people fired and hired, get the store running smoothly but nothing. People that have been on the crew for years are leaving because they get paid 9 an hour, I get paid 15 for “not official” assistant manager pay and it stayed 15 as a crew member. So I dropped down from assistant. Even before then, her daughters and her friends were treating me like shit and after I dropped manager it got worse. So I put in my two weeks. There's a lot more detail that goes into it but I just really wanted to vent because day after tomorrow is my last day. Every new hire hates her daughters and those kids that work there and wind up leaving. I'm waiting for the store to go completely under.
Holy shit. I just want to work somewhere that functions for the people, not for some shut stain of a corporate office.
