Being made to wait 2 weeks before a disposable job starts.

For background I have a side gig that sometimes pays well sometimes pays crap. So I usually work a disposable job that will pay at least $15 an hour to guarantee I'll make my payments. You would think in an economy where all the billion dollar corporations are complaining that nobody wants to work for them they would speed up the entire human resources onboarding process. An you would be wrong. If I have been smart I would have kept looking for a disposable job that would have started by now. So I really hope my part-time on again off again side gig absolutely explodes in the month of April to make up for the two and a half weeks unpaid leave from disposable jobs
